  • September 21st is National Gratitude Day. Although everyday I am grateful for the things going on in my life. Gratitude is powerful mind-set. It allows you to get through the good and the bad by finding something positive in everything that happens. It keeps you from complaining about what's not right. Why?, because if you are focused on being grateful there just isn't time for complaining. Be grateful everyday. What are you grateful for?

  • In Blink of An Eye

Yesterday, morning I woke up fixed breakfast and told my kid to have a great day at work. About 3 minutes later, my son calls and said the car was hit. Thank God, everyone involved was fine. Today, I learned that a co-worker's wife was killed in a card accident and leaves behind 4 small children and a husband. My heart goes out to the family who I know is having a hard time in this moment.

Today I had a lady walk up to me and tell me how beautiful I looked and asked,  "Has anyone told you that they loved you today?" She gave me a hug and went on her way.

To reflect on the events of the last 24 hours, I couldn't help but think about how quickly life can change and how valuable every breathing moment truly is. How important it is to love on family and friends. Today, tell your family how much you love them. Remember, life can drastically change in a blink of an eye.

I have read it several times. In fact, I use it as a workbook. It is important that constantly revisit ideas that work to keep them in the forefront of our minds and brains. Please take a minute and reconnect with 7 Good Habits of Highly Successful People

  • I Needed This

This morning, I saw this on Facebook which represents where I am in this moment. I truly needed this reminder that everyone is not going to have the same heart as myself. Everyone is not going to do for me as I do for them. Some will see the value and others will not. Some will make it a priority and some will not. Some are ready and some are not. Some believe and some do not. It's okay because God will send those who do have the same heart and I just have to be patient and wait on the Lord. I am moving at the speed of God. I must always remember that. Thanking you, Lord for all that you have done and will do going forward. Amen.

  • I'm Being Stretched. What About You?

I've been in my office most of the day, jamming on some nice smooth jazz and entering my business cards in an excel spreadsheet. I know I would not be doing this if it were not for our calendar project. This is one of those tasks that I had been saying I was going to do and never got around to it. I'm sure many of you are being stretched as well. Being Stretched to do something to make your business and your life flow better is huge. What has this project stretched you to do?

  • I Believe I Can Fly

I am grateful for the opportunity to be invited  to do a lunch time workshop at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The theme is "I Believe I Can Fly" It's about doing the thing that you are afraid of. Not so long ago, public speaking was my biggest fear. I heard somebody say "Do the Thing That You Are Afraid Of: Those words resonated with me. Motivational speaking goes along with life coaching. I knew I needed to over-come this fear in order to build my practice. So I decided to join a Toast Masters group. I attended every other week religiously for 2 years. My practice group started with kids, as I speak for the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education. Going forward, I have done some other speaking engagements at churches and expos

I say this to say, we're all afraid of something. Do it anyway. Do it afraid. If I had stayed in that place of fear, the opportunities would not be presenting themselves today. Don't get me wrong, I'm a little nervous, but I'm not afraid.

  • Meeting Ideas

Thank you ladies for an awesome meeting. A special Thank you to Bunny who gave us all frames for our Sista's Creed, as well as sharing a beautiful poem that she wrote. As always our meetings are so special and enlightening. The time went too fast. One of our members suggested that we have a registry with everyone's phone number. So look for that in the next day or too

Going forward, I would like each member to do a presentation on their business. The presentation needs to be no more than 15 minutes. At the end of your presentation, we will provide written feed back to support you in being the best you can be.

At every meeting we will have an exercise to develop everyone in perfecting their elevator pitch.

Please let us know what is important to you to discuss at our meetings.

Many Blessings To You and Yours

  • How Not to Give Up On Your Goals

As I was scrolling through my emails, I found this powerful message regarding goal setting. Some of you, I have had conversations with creating Smart Goals. As a Coach, Creating Smart Goals is first when I start working with a client. Everything takes time. When we develop behaviors in our life that do not serve us, it is usually something that you have practiced over time, not even realizing that you are doing it. You continue to practice that thing, even though you don't like the outcome. Why, because change is hard. Change takes being conscious and intentional about that thing you want to either add or remove from your life. Many times than not we will let ourselves down with the quickness. Having someone outside yourself to be accountable to, changes everything. Before you can pursue anything in your life, you need to first want to and then you need a plan. That is, a smart plan that will allow you to achieve it. It is not easy. However, as you know, anything worth having you will have to work hard for it.  I hope you apply this to your life, which will support you in your business. Visit this page as often as you need to. Make it happen, whatever that looks like for you.

Many Blessings and Love to You and Yours

  • Showing Up and Wait on The Lord

I was sitting here thinking, the many times I heard the words, "90% of Achievement is Showing UP" "Wait on the Lord,"  All week, I was trying to convince myself to not go to the Health Event at the  Randallstown Community City on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Everyone I asked to go with me, said they had to work or do something else and couldn't make it. On Thursday, something in my spirit said, you have to go. Although, there were not a ton people like the last event, however, God brought the right people. I had the pleasure of meeting the Wylie family. An amazing family, very tight knit.  In collaborating with different members of the family, a meeting place was found for A Sista's Circle Empowerment Network, LLC at no charge to us. My fellow Sistas Annette Miller, Renee Carter , Karen Smith and my son came out and supported and shared in this special moment. We were brought to tears of joy. I know in my spirit that God is pleased about what we are doing. He has literally made a way when nothing was there that the eye could see. We are all together for a special purpose. Some of us see it and some have not yet arrived. And just to think that I almost did not attend this event. I would have missed this Blessing. A Special Thank You to our CEO, God for his continuous favor and guiding our steps. Thank you to the fabulous women whom He has brought into this organization to share their special gifts and talents.

    In Jesus Name, Amen.

More details to come about our meeting place.

  • Come Sit With Me

There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

I'm supposed to pick 8 women who have touched my life and who I think might participate. Please send this back to me. Remember to just read the quotation. That's all you have to do. There is nothing attached. Just send this to 8 women you would like to sit at your table and let me know what happens on the 4th day. Thank you!!

Quote: "Today may there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
